Bringer of the Seasons, Mother of Grief

Her story
goddess · Greece, Bronze Age through the Roman period; Eleusinian Mysteries observed for two millennia
When Hades took her daughter, Demeter searched the earth with torches, refused to eat, and let every field die until the gods negotiated. The compromise gave the world winter and gave Greece the Mysteries at Eleusis, where initiates were shown something about death that none of them ever wrote down.
Her grief is not decorative — it has leverage. She stops the harvest, and starving humanity means starving gods with no one left to sacrifice to them. She is the goddess who proves that a mother's refusal can bend the cosmos, and that some losses are not resolved but arranged into a rhythm you can live with.

What you need to grow
Nurture your grief as carefully as you would a child. It is doing necessary work.
What you need to know
Not everything gets fully returned. Learning to live with a half-year arrangement is not defeat.
